Sir Terence H. Matthews

Chairman of the Board

Sir Terence Matthews is the founder and Chairman of Wesley Clover, an investment vehicle and holding company. Terry has either founded or funded over 80 companies since 1972 including Newbridge Networks, a company he founded in 1986 and which became a leader in the worldwide data networking industry. When France-based Alcatel acquired Newbridge in May 2000, the company employed more than 6,500 employees and recorded FY 1999 revenue of $1.8 billion. In 1972, before launching Newbridge, Terry co-founded Mitel, a world leader in the design and manufacture of enterprise communications solutions. Wesley Clover now has interests in a broad range of next-generation technology companies, real estate, hotels and resorts.

In addition to being the Chairman of Wesley Clover, Terry is also Chairman of a number of private and publicly traded companies including Mitel, March Networks, Bridgewater Systems, Solace Systems and Counterpath and sits as a director on the Boards of several others.

Terry holds an honours degree in electronics from the University of Wales and is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical Engineers and of the Royal Academy of Engineering. He has been awarded honorary doctorates by several universities, including the University of Wales and Carleton University in Ottawa. In 1994, he was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire, and in the 2001 Queen’s Birthday Honours, he was awarded a Knighthood.


Andrew Fisher

Director

As Executive Vice President of Wesley Clover, Andrew Fisher is responsible for new venture creation. He currently manages multiple assets within the portfolio and is responsible for government and University outreach programs globally. In addition Andrew runs the Mitel Affiliate program that is responsible for identifying and commercializing gaps in existing portfolio investments.

He co-founded NewHeights Software Corporation, sold in 2007, where he managed all Service Provider, large enterprise, and vertical market accounts. Leveraging Wesley Clover’s global technology portfolio of over a dozen companies, Andrew spearheads the corporation’s solutions strategies which reach from the network’s core to the end user experience, incorporating Voice-over-IP, IPTV, Unified Communications and IP Multimedia Subsystem technologies.

Andrew is a member of the Rochester Institute of Technology, Industrial Advisory Board for Networking, Security, and Systems Administration and currently sits on the Board for Benbria Corporation, NetVitesse Corporation, Isca Limited, North and Eastern Ontario Digital Media Corporation, Ontario CleanTech Eco-System and Teldio Corporation. Andrew has an academic background in both economics and computer science and engineering and is a graduate of the University of British Columbia. Andrew has held media production roles within the Canadian Department of National Defence and Natural Resources Canada.


Niall Gallagher

Founder and CEO

Niall Gallagher is founder and CEO of Martello Technologies.

He has more than 30 years of experience in the telecommunications industry starting with Nortel Networks in 1981. He has held senior management positions in Nortel Networks in Canada and Hong Kong. He joined Mitel Networks in 2005 where he was responsible for Strategic Planning and Product Management for Mitel’s Service Provider business.

Niall holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from University College Dublin, Ireland, and an MBA from the University of Ottawa, Canada.


Paul Chiarelli

Director

Paul is Vice President, Finance in North America. Prior to joining Wesley Clover in 2001, he was Director of Finance at Tundra Semiconductor Corporation. Tundra designs, develops, and markets System Interconnect for use by the world’s leading communications and storage system companies. Paul was part of the team that completed Tundra’s successful initial public offering in 1999 and the acquisition of Quadic Systems in 2001.

Before joining Tundra, Paul worked for Deloitte & Touche, LLP focusing on technology sector clients. He has over 12 years experience assisting start-up, R&D and large international telecom and software companies.

Paul received his Canadian Chartered Accountant designation in 1991 after receiving a finance and economics degree from the University of Western Ontario in London and a commerce degree from Carleton University in Ottawa.
