Ottawa’s Martello Technologies announced Thursday it has received up to $750,000 in federal funding through the FedDev Ontario program.

“FedDev Ontario’s support will accelerate Martello’s growth, meeting growing global demand for solutions that manage the performance of cloud-hosted business communications,” Martello president and CEO Bruce Linton said in a statement. “In fact, we’ve already created new skilled Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) jobs in Ontario, and entered new global markets for MarWatch.”

The MarWatch system, which monitors, tracks and analyses the status of a company’s communications network will see its design and development enhanced by the funding, and Martello expects that in addition to maintaining 12 jobs over the course of the project, the funding will help it create nine new jobs.

Kanata-Carleton MP Karen McCrimmon made the announcement on behalf of Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Navdeep Bains.

“Martello Technologies is a terrific example of a Kanata-based, innovative start-up business that is poised for growth and success,” Ms. McCrimmon said in a statement. “By supporting dynamic small businesses and providing them with the support they need, we will help create jobs and economic prosperity for Canadian families.”
