Martello Technologies on Profit 500 list

Nearly 20 Ottawa companies landed on the 2017 Profit 500 list, an annual ranking of the country’s fastest-growing companies, with Martello Technologies leading the local pack at number 48.
Rankings are determined by an analysis of five-year revenue growth. Martello, a Kanata-based tech firm with 25 employees, raised revenues by 1,552 per cent over the past five years. Ottawa Business Journal named Martello its fastest-growing company in 2015.
“Joining the Startup 50 (an accompanying list of new companies ranked by two-year revenue growth) last year put us on the map of top new Canadian growth companies and today, we’re thrilled to be recognized as part of the Profit 500 alongside other innovative, fast growing businesses across Canada,” said CEO Bruce Linton in a statement.
Ottawa’s next entry on the list is also no stranger to OBJ’s fastest-growing companies. Napkyn, an analytics and consulting firm twice named to OBJ’s list, came in at number 102 on the Profit 500 with 712 per cent revenue growth.
One of this year’s fastest growing companies, seoplus+, landed on the Startup 50. The digital marketing firm was number 36 on the list after growing revenues by 412 per cent.
Strangely enough, 18 Ottawa companies made the list last year as well, with You.i TV taking the top spot locally.
